I hope this opens the door for more grassroots animation projects. I can't imagine how the immense crowd of backers must feel, watching their dream come to life and seeing that every single cent was well-spent. It might be the one small hurdle to a mainstream public as some beats might not always feel the most natural, but it doubles the enjoyment for those of us who are familiar with these voices and how the game works with the layer of meta in which it blankets the show. Absolutely gorgeously animated, easily the top tier of current Western fare, stunningly choreographed and unsurprisingly voiced to absolute pergection, this show represents the true joy of imagination and escapism while roleplaying. Sexy, rowdy, and evoking genuine investment in the characters through their onscreen cameraderie, banter and slowly unfolding respective backstories. This show to me is the pure distillation of what good fantasy is supposed to be. Overall I finished this, so it wasn't awful, but I was never pulled into it at any point. Cussing for the sake of cussing isn't funny, it's just bad writing. 90% of the time the jokes are just forced and lame. But it seems like Vox Machina's creators think that saying the F word randomly = funny, and that *any* sexual reference = funny. I LOVE South Park, and that's a show that does crude humor right. I don't mind potty jokes or cussing at all. Her development happens way too quickly and we never get a chance to know her first. Pike is another one who comes out of left field. The only character who has half decent development is Percy. It comes out of nowhere and has no time to grow at all. Vax and Keyleth go from never talking to one another to instantly being in love. Character development is bad for almost all the characters. It's a bit rushed and force and we don't get much time to care about any of the characters or process what's going on. The animation is fantastic and the voice acting is good, but those are the only major positives I can think of. I guess I was expecting more, given the good reviews. this is exactly what i wanted (minus the sex and nudity) Boobs, buttocks, and a slight glimpse at a man's testicles is seen). They played them for years before creating this show! WARNING: this show is more than rated R and has soooooooooo many adult themes and actions as in language (F words mostly), violence and gore, and nudity (as of right now, a short oral sex scene in the first episode that lasts about 15 seconds. Here, i love that matt is voicing Sylas, it was the only way to do it! Overall i think the voice acting is fantastic, and there is nothing to complain about because nobody knows these characters as well as the voice actors. It saves lives the ending of the second episode introduces one of, if not, my favorite arc of campaign 1 in introducing the Briarwoods. no matter who you are, ALWAYS do the right thing. This arc gives Vax and the other members their first lesson which is. just wanna get that out of the way haha we did it, we did it, we did it, WE DID IT!!!! The first thing i wanna go over is how accurate this show already is to the arc's they are doing in the show! The first two episodes are a pre-stream arc that we've only heard about, and now we finally get to see it. Nonetheless, can't wait for the next episodes. I am hoping they will balance things out in the future. I was expecting some parts of the show to be like that but I also expected to see some of the beautiful places of Tal'Dorei. The story and atmosphere are also both very dark so far.

Maybe I am used to the Critical Role show and watching them trying to decide what to do for hours. I found the story to be progressing too fast. They created the characters so they know them inside out. Maybe that's because the main actors are actually voicing their own characters that they played on the 1st season of Critical Role. It has great story, humor, live and strong characters and excellent voice acting. I found the show very entertaining on multiple levels. If you are uncertain, watch the 1st episode and see if that's your cup of tea. First, I think it should be a fair warning that this show is for mature audience.
